Explore Alberta’s backyard and the abundant medicinal and edible plants that grow in our community with our Library Herb Club! Participants will learn about the unique herbal actions of local wild herbs and explore their culinary uses. Each session is designed to teach plant identification, deepen your knowledge of local herbs, and enhance your cooking skills while fostering a sense of community.

Please bring a clean jar that can hold about a half cup to each session - a 4 oz/125 ml mason jar works well.

This class is free, however, your donation will help the library to recover the cost of ingredients. Suggested donation is $10.

We hope you join this for a culinary adventure, where each class will leave you inspired and equipped to bring the vibrant flavours of herbs into your kitchen. We look forward to seeing you at each flavorful gathering! The next session will be held in November where we will learn about medicinal mushrooms and winter broths.

This class is instructed by Community Herbalist, Holly Phillips. Holly is the Executive Director of the Canadian Herb Conference and the Student Lead for the British Columbia Herbalists Association. You can learn more about Holly by visiting her websiteInstagram, and LinkedIn.
