Explore Alberta’s backyard and the abundant medicinal and edible plants that grow in our community with our Library Herb Club! Participants will learn about the unique herbal actions of local wild herbs and explore their culinary uses. Each session is designed to teach plant identification, deepen your knowledge of local herbs, and enhance your cooking skills while fostering a sense of community.

Please bring a clean jar that can hold about a half cup to each session - a 4 oz/125 ml mason jar works well.

This class is free, however, your donation will help the library to recover the cost of ingredients.

September: Horseradish

This herb is known for its robust aroma and flavour! Learn about its historical significance, culinary uses, and where to find it. Together, we’ll make Fire Cider, a tonic that can be taken to boost your immunity. Perfect for cold and flu season, or to season your Caesar!  Suggested donation for this class is $10.
